After losing two The Beatles members, surviving bandmates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr released the last song, "Now And Then" on November 2. However, fans can reportedly expect more after the release.

Yoko Ono, Lennon's wife, gave the surviving members the recording clip of "Now And Then" in 1994 - a few years before Harrison died. She also handed them the demos of "Free As a Bird" and "Real Love," which the band completed and released in 1995 and 1996 respectively.

They formally released the official last song after an initial attempt to complete it in 1995, but the band seemingly has more to offer.

The Beatles To Release More Music?

The Beatles surviving members were able to complete the new song with the help of "The Beatles: Get Back" documentary director Peter Jackson and his sound team. They used WingNut Films' MAL audio technology in Lennon's home recording - the same process the other songs might go through.

In his interview with The Sunday Times, Jackson said there would be more The Beatles songs.

"It did cross my mind!" he explained. "We can take a performance from Get Back, separate John and George, and then have Paul and Ringo add a chorus or harmonies. You might end up with a decent song, but I haven't had conversations with Paul about that. It's fanboy stuff, but certainly conceivable."

Once confirmed, the tracks would follow the recently released track, which became the band's first song after the deaths of Lennon and Harrison.

Lennon was murdered on December 8, 1980, in front of his Manhattan apartment building by a deranged fan named Mark David Chapman. He sustained gunshot wounds in his back, causing him to lose around 80 percent of his blood supply.

Meanwhile, Harrison passed away on November 29, 2001, following his long battle with lung cancer. He succumbed to the disease two years after a near-fatal knife attack.

"There it was, John's voice, crystal clear. It's quite emotional," McCartney said of the new song. "And we all play on it, it's a genuine Beatles recording. In 2023 to still be working on Beatles music, and about to release a new song the public haven't heard, I think it's an exciting thing."
