The country music genre just earned another star and she goes by the name Lainey Wilson; during the 2023 CMAs, the singer brought home a record-breaking five awards.

Just a year after winning New Artist of the Year at the CMAs, Wilson returned to win this year's Entertainer of the Year, a feat achieved previously by Garth Brooks over 30 years ago.

On top of that, the "Watermelon Moonshine" singer won four more awards including album of the year for "Bell Bottom Country", female vocalist of the year, musical event of the year, and music video of the year, reports say.

It was a huge night for the country music star, and she has managed to cent her legacy as one of the most iconic stars in the genre of this generation.

Lainey Wilson Breaks Records

With five awards won in one night, Wilson has earned a spot next to other country superstars like Johnny Cash, Vince Gill, and Alan Jackson, who all won five awards in one year.

The "Things a Man Oughta Know" singer also set a new record for a female artist; Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, and Alison Krauss each won four awards in one night during their respective CMA seasons.

"This is all I've ever wanted to do, it's the only thing I know how to do," Wilson said during her acceptance speech. "It finally feels like country music is starting to love me back."

The singer grew up listening to country music and attended a Grand Ole Opry performance at the age of nine, which sparked her passion for singing and music.
