Lana Del Rey shocked fans when she admitted that she was not aware of the submission process that happens before getting considered for a Grammy Award from the Recording Academy.

"I in fact only learned this year that you have to submit your own album if you want to be nominated," the "Summertime Sadness" singer wrote. "Even that was out of my wheelhouse, but I did do that.

Elsewhere in her video reaction, uploaded on Instagram, Del Rey talked about her five Grammy nominations: "I woke up so surprised. Very excited about these Grammy nominations. Five!

"It's just such a fun day. It's really just about how excited everybody else is, and everybody calling, getting in touch, and saying hi. All about the process and just one more exciting thing that's happening."

Lana Del Rey Might Set This Record

According to reports, despite Del Rey not being a forerunner in the Album of the Year category, especially since she is up against Swift, SZA, and Olivia Rodrigo, she might be able to set this record--the longest title to win the Grammy Award.

"Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" boasts 10 words, and it beats other albums that earned the award before, like "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" and "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb."

Fans were shocked to find out that Del Rey did not know of the submission process for the Record Academy, especially since she has been releasing music for years now, and she is good friends with some of the most nominated and awarded artists at the Grammy Awards.
