Travis Scott emotionally spoke about the tragic 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy that killed 10 people and injured hundreds of attendees.

Two years after the Astroworld Festival's terrifying crowd rush, the victims' families have yet to score justice as the court has not determined who is responsible for the deaths. A grand jury previously ruled that Scott would not face criminal charges despite being named in several lawsuits.

A trial is set to take place on May 6, 2024.

Travis Scott Reflects on Fatal Astroworld Festival

Speaking with GQ for the magazine's Men of the Year Issue, Scott spoke candidly about the terrifying night and how much it still affects him two years later. He noted that it also affected his creative process in making his new album, "Utopia," since it took him months before he was able to get back to music again.

"Making music, you think about things that go on in life and things that happen in your life, and you dial in on things," he said in the story published on Wednesday, November 15. "That moment for families, for the city, you know, it was devastating."

The 32-year-old "SICKO MODE" rapper added that it had been therapeutic for him to be able to release his emotions through new music and finish the material.

Scott looked back at the tragedy in the song, "My Eyes," referencing the events that broke on that night in Houston.

He sings: "I replay them nights, and right by my side, all I see is a sea of people that ride wit' me/If they just knew what Scotty would do to jump off the stage and save him a child."

"The song is emotional to me," he said. "It's one of my favorite songs on the album. And that verse means a lot to me... I have pain too. I have concerns, things that I think about, and the things that I see on a day-to-day basis I think about them."

Although years have already passed, Scott is said to be determined to make everything better - including himself.

Scott addressed the issues during his first-ever interview in December 2021 after the Astroworld Festival. He told the outlet that he was not able to hear screams for help, though he stopped the show several times to ensure safety of the concertgoers.
