Bridgit Mendler returned to the netizens' radar when Pop Crave reported on the singer addressing a Tweet she made a year ago about "news."

"Friends! Staying on brand with a signature cryptic post from me because I see your q's," the singer slash actress wrote about a November 2022 Tweet.

"I'll tell you this, news is coming (not imminently, give it a few) that I am thoroughly excited to share, though it will not be what you expect... better [in my opinion]. Love you."

Fans have been eagerly anticipating any update on Mendler's music career, especially since she seemingly dropped off from the face of the Earth to pursue her education.

She released her first and currently only studio album "Hello My Name Is..." in 2012, which produced three singles "Ready or Not," "Hurricane," and "Top of the World."

Bridgit Mendler Retires From Music?

The singer rose to prominence after starring in the Disney Channel show "Good Luck Charlie" from 2010 to 2014 before starring in another hit Disney Channel original movie "Lemonade Mouth."

"I feel like I've poured the most of myself of anything I've done into this project. That's been a very therapeutic process," Mendler said about her EP "Nemesis," which came out in November 2016.

Following the movie's success, fans fully expected the singer to make a comeback in the music scene and release a sophomore album, however, she did not.

This is probably why fans thought her tweet last year was a hint that she would be reviving her music career; "K sit tight for news," she wrote.

"Mother is coming to save the music industry," one wrote.

"Is she gonna pull a Normani and leave us waiting for 8 years?"

"She's edging us," another added.

"Definitely not anything acting/music-wise, considering her Harvard degree."

"She better not announce another master's degree."

Bridgit Mendler Teases New Music

While Mendler pursued her master's and doctorate degrees, she occasionally teased fans with audio clips of what might be new music.

According to reports, in 2021, the singer released a two-minute clip of an unreleased song on X (formerly known as Twitter); she is yet to release the song she teased, though.

The following year, Mendler Tweeted "Hellow World," without any context, which made fans assume she would be returning to the music scene with something new.

However, since then, there has been little to no information about the singer's music career, and in fact, some fans have feared that it might never arrive.
