When news of Sabrina Carpenter keeping an Ariana Grande pillow on her sofa resurfaced, it made netizens wonder and dig more into the singer's background.

Apparently, the "Nonsense" singer was the opening act during Grande's "Dangerous Woman' tour back in 2017 in Brazil, hence the pillow and its significance.

The news came as a shock to new fans since Carpenter is currently an opening act for Taylor Swift's "The Eras" tour in Latin America, as well as her upcoming shows in Australia and Singapore.

"She was in the industry in 2016?" A fan asked.

"She needs to open for her [Grande] again," another added.

Sabrina Carpenter Headlines Tour

Since then, though, the "Feather" singer has amassed quite a fanbase of her own, following the release and success of her fifth studio album, "Emails I Can't Send."

Carpenter has been releasing music since 2015 with her debt studio album "Eyes Wide Open," followed by "Evolution" in 2016, "Singular Act I" and "Singular Act II" in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

However, her previous releases did not get much attention and critical acclaim like her 2022 album, and for Carpenter, it was necessary to her success.

"This was the trajectory of my path," she explained. "I can't change it now.

My brain works in ways where I'm like, 'Oh, I want to do this. ... It's gonna take a long time ... so I [have] to start now.'

"Even in those moments of free time, I feel like I'm always just visualizing something in the future."

Carpenter was able to gain traction online which resulted in the headline of her world tour, and landing one of the most coveted spots as an opening act to "The Eras" tour.

Sabrina Carpenter Opens For Taylor Swift

When Swift invited Carpenter to join her for her highly anticipated world tour, there was only one answer.

"I'm not gonna say I peed my pants because that sounds really graphic and maybe not sanitary," the "Skinny Dipping" singer revealed in an interview. "But I think it really just caught me off guard."

"It was very much a childhood dream come true. I still probably have not processed it if I'm being completely honest with you."

She described the experience as "the biggest gift." Not only was she able to fulfill a childhood dream, but Carpenter is also forging her path as an artist.

She recently released her first holiday album, "Fruitcake."
