Dolly Parton's "Rockstar" is one of the most highly-anticipated albums of the year because of how the music legend explores the rock genre following her induction at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Admittedly, Parton felt like she didn't deserve to be inducted into the said Hall of Fame, initially hesitating to accept the award. However, she then proceeded to do so and revealed that she would be creating a rock record to justify her induction.

She stacked a plethora of artists from the pop and rock genre, creating what others said was a culmination of her artistry in the past decades.

Now, the album is primed to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 chart - possibly securing her first-ever No. 1 album in her career.

Dolly Parton 'Rockstar' Critic Reviews

Released as her 49th album in her expansive discography, Dolly Parton wows critics in her voluntary foray into the rock genre.

According to Metacritic, Dolly Parton's "Rockstar" received "generally favorable" reviews from critics.

Slant Magazine pointed out that Parton still managed to make "Rockstar" a "Dolly Parton album" because of her "distinctive twang."

Classic Rock, in their five-star review of the album, described it as "a monumentally hideous, yet strangely glorious album." Mojo says that while there are moments that the album seemed "under-amped," it should be praised for its "chutzpah."

The Independent, on the other hand, was more critical of the record - saying that the album is "so long that it can feel like a bit of a slog" but "after all the glittering joy and fluttering hope Parton has given the world, it's hard to begrudge her a little Dollyoke fun".

Dolly Parton 'Rockstar' Billboard 200 Debut

Surprisingly, Dolly Parton has never secured the top spot in her decades of being in the music industry. According to Billboard, that might not be the case next Sunday when the publication releases its weekly Billboard 200 chart.

Although it is not big on streaming, "Rockstar" is projected to debut at the No. 1 spot of the Billboard 200 because of its physical album sales. The LP is sold in 10 Vinyl variants and the 30-song tracklist can easily help the record boost.

Among the collaborators that Dolly recruited on the album were Mick Jagger, Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, Sting, Stevie Nicks, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Brandi Carlile, Melissa Etheridge, Lizzo, Paul McCartney, Ringgo Star, Mick Fleetwood, Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, and even Elton John.
