Lana Del Rey has kind of made being mysterious her schtick, and it's certainly working from a public relations perspective. The most recent piece of intrigue came in the form of a tweet and photograph teasing her upcoming short film "Tropico."

The most interesting, and possibly appalling, thing about the photo teaser was that it featured Del Rey dressed to evoke the Virgin Mary. This goes along with a theme she's been carrying when teasing the film, as she's featured other images that evoke Adam and Eve, and another meant to resemble the snake that tempted Eve. All that being said, no one knows how this applies to the plot of "Tropico." No one actually knows what the film is about.

Another hint came in the form of another photo tweeted by Del Rey: an image of poet Walt Whitman. The "Leaves of Grass" poet's work is used in "Tropico," according to the photo. Plus, Del Rey has referenced Whitman in three of her songs: "The Body Electric," "Gods and Monsters" and "Bel Air."

For those who want to see it, you'll be limited to showings in Los Angeles and New York City, at least for starters. The problem is that Del Rey hasn't indicated when they'll be showing. Nor has she given a location for New York City. She HAS given a location for Los Angeles, and it's a a cemetery. Go figure.

The most bothersome detail revealed by Del Rey is that she referred to "Tropico" as "the farewell project." Farewell to what? Is the songstress pulling a Harper Lee on us? Again, all will be revealed in future tweets. Maybe.
