It has recently been reported that Kanye West is trying to purchase Lil Durk's record contract.

Sources revealed to TMZ on Monday that the rapper is discussing a potential transfer with Alamo Records, headed by CEO Todd Moscowitz.

This comes after the label reportedly blocked Durk's participation in Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign's new song "Vultures."

Therefore, the "Donda" rapper attempts to free his fellow Chicago artists from his contractual obligations by paying for them himself.

Lil Durk's Exclusion From 'Vultures'

Recent reports of Ye attempting to acquire Lil Durk from Alamo Records come after the rapper's verse was absent from the streaming version of "Vultures," which premiered on Nov. 22.

Initially, the track released on Chicago radio included a 16-bar poem from Durkio, yet when it reached DSPs he had been removed entirely; leading many fans to voice their displeasure.

Fortunately, Lil Durk addressed the issue, and his vocals were available for Thanksgiving streaming. The rapper initially signed with Def Jam Records before severing ties and joining Alamo Records in 2018.

As Kanye prepares to launch his new joint album with Ty Dolla $ign, the two have recently been in Saudi Arabia tying loose ends. Although there were some initial delays, Ty Dolla $ign has assured fans that the album will be arriving imminently.

Dubai Performance

This past week, the possibility of Lil Durk leaving his record deal took a major step forward when he was spotted in Dubai with Kanye West.

During a club appearance over the weekend, Durk had Ty Dolla $ign and Bump J join him on stage for the first-ever live performance of "Vultures."

In an interview with HipHopDX, John Monopoly, Kanye West's long-time manager, shared that the superstar rapper had expressed his desire for a joint tour among four different artists. "Let's go for a world tour!"

Over the past year, West and Smurk have both featured in popular songs. Cardi B's "Hot Shit" included both artists, while Lil Durk collaborated with Vory on Donda's track "Jonah."

Additionally, the "Off the Record" podcast revealed that Ye had composed an entire version of his Almost Healed album which he eventually decided to discard.

Lil Durk said of Kanye, "He actually did my whole album."

"He like, tweaked with the beat, he put some vocals behind some beats. He played with a couple records. I'm a say that, he played with a couple records ... He did some genius s--t."

Lil Durk added: "I had went to the hotel where he was at. He was actually in a good head space. I guess all the bullshit that was going on with him was getting to him, but he definitely in a good space."
