Lil Nas X has been a controversial figure in the music industry because of his previous gimmicks, music videos, and the way he interacts with fans on social media. However, the singer appeared to have a change of heart as he's entering his "christian era."

Taking to his social media accounts, the "Call Me By Your Name" hitmaker shared a music video teaser of his acoustic song which sounded like Christian music.

"Father stretch my hands, the lonely road seems to last the longest. Help me with my plans, everything seems to go to nowhere," he sang as he rocked a long straight hair, a graphic shirt that reads: "If God Doesn't Exist, Then Who's Laughing At Us," and a long skirt.

As of this writing, it's unclear if the musician is going to release the song soon or if it was only a joke.

Lil Nas X Clarifies Something About His Gimmicks

In a follow-up post, Lil Nas X clarified that making Christian music didn't mean that he's not gay anymore.

"making christian music does not mean i can't suck d*** no more. the two are not mutually exclusive. i am allowed to get on my knees for multiple reasons," he wrote.

Later on, the singer addressed those people who thought this was another gimmick as he noted that he could express himself in many ways.

"y'all see everything i do as a gimmick. when in reality im just an artist expressing myself in different ways. whether im a cowboy, gay, satanic, or now christian y'all find a problem! y'all don't police nobody else art like mine," he wrote.

Lil Nas X Concert Film

The recent video comes a few months after the singer released his documentary and concert film titled "Long Live Montero."

At the time, the musician debuted the movie at the Toronto International Film Festival. Although he was known for trolling his fans, the film revolved around the side of him that the public didn't know about.

Directed by Zac Manuel and Carlos López Estrada and produced by RadicalMedia, the musician looked back at his success as an artist in the documentary as well as the performances of him at his concerts.

According to a press release, as reported by Billboard, the movie also navigated the singer's identity, family, and more.
