It's hard to believe that Johnny Marr is now part of Britain's "elder" rock crowd, but the former Smiths guitarist turns 51 in October.
The '80s legend has been providing himself with new challenges, one of which is the release of his second solo LP, Playland. The 11-song disc is due Oct. 7, and follows up 2013's The Messenger, which received mostly positive reviews.
