The introduction of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and the iWatch wasn't the only major news coming out of Apple's big live stream announcement today (Sept. 9), there's also a new U2 album. At the closing of the Apple event, U2 performed a new single, announced a new album and simultaneously released the LP, titled Songs of Innocence, to every iTunes user for free. iTunes users can now go into their music library and listen to the new 11-song album now.

Teased by U2's Bono as the band's "most personal album yet," Songs of Innocence is available for free for every iTunes, iTunes Radio and Beats customer through mid-October, according to Radio.com. All users have to do is go into their personal music library, leading Apple CEO Tim Cook to call it the "largest album release of all time."

The simultaneous announcement and release of U2's Songs of Innocence follows a tumultuous time for the legendary rock 'n' roll band. After releasing singles "Ordinary Love" and "Invisible" over the last year, a U2 album was announced for 2014 before being pushed back to next year, though rumors later resurfaced that the album would, in fact, be released this year.

But, a new album hit millions of listeners today anyway, sans "Ordinary Love" or "Invisible."
