Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka have reportedly broken up after seven years of dating; many are speculating whether the split is a long time coming for the former couple.

According to Page Six, the "All I Want For Christmas Is You" hitmaker has decided to part ways with her longtime boyfriend because they did not agree on the direction of their relationship and personal lives.

"He wants to have a family. That's not where she is at," a source told the publication.

Another insider claims that Tanaka "wants to start having his own life" after being linked to Carey for more than a decade; they met in 2006 when he worked as a dancer for the singer and they started dating in 2016.

Carey has two kids: a set of twins, Moroccan and Monroe, 12, while Tanaka does not have children of his own.

Mariah Carey Hinted at the Cracks of Her Relationship?

The "Obsessed" singer first sounded the alarm bells that there might be something going on between herself and Tanaka in an interview she had with People Magazine.

"I've been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year. Since last year - because last year wasn't the greatest," Carey said.

Meanwhile, netizens expressed how bad they feel for the singer who will be returning center stage to reclaim her throne as the "Queen of Christmas," as she does every year around the holiday season, however, they also cannot wait for the new album.

"This new album is gonna eat so bad."

"OH MC16 GONNA GAG SO BAD," another added.

Others could not help but point out Carey's age in the discussion of Tanaka wanting to have kids. "Mariah is 54 with 2 kids of her own, wtf did he expect?????"

"He wanted to have kids with a 53-year-old lady?"

"Hard to keep a solid relationship when you're frozen 11 months out of the year."
