Bobbie Jean Carter, the sister of Aaron and Nick Carter, has passed away. She was only 41.
TMZ reported that Bobbie Jean passed away early on Saturday in Florida, citing Bobbie Jean's mother, Jane Carter.
"I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean, and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time," Jane told the outlet, referring to Bobbie Jean's death, as well as those of Aaron, who died at 34 in November 2022, and Leslie Carter, who died at 25 in January 2012.
"When I am able to think clearly, I'll release a fuller statement, but until then, I would request to be left to grieve in private," she continued.
Added Jane: "[H]owever deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."
PEOPLE has learned from sources close to the Carters that Bobbie Jean's family believes she died from cardiac arrest, but further information about what exactly happened before her death is still unknown. Although Bobbie Jean had been involved in her brothers' respective music careers in the past, she lived a rather quiet life with her little daughter before her passing.
She was employed by Aaron as a makeup artist and clothing stylist for his tours in the early 2000s, following his successful music career, according to TMZ.

Bobbie Jean struggled with substance abuse and addiction, according to TMZ, a subject that was covered on television. Following her arrest in Florida in June on suspicion of stealing stickers and markers from a Hobby Lobby, Bobbie Jean passed away.
Subsequently, it was allegedly discovered that she was carrying cocaine. The Carter family, who have struggled with money problems, divorce, and addiction throughout the years, has suffered yet another tragedy with her passing.
