"The Color Purple" is one of the biggest movie musicals of 2023. The highly anticipated adaptation also introduced new songs for its avid fanbase, which are written for the movie adaptation and some which are inspired by the musical.

R&B titans H.E.R and Usher are part of the said movie soundtrack, and they released the music video for the new song "Risk It All" and fans couldn't help but rave about it!

Usher, HER Drops 'Risk It All' Music Video

Usher bared it all in the music video, stripping down but a pair of skin-tight boxer briefs while the Oscar-winning singer sported a low-cut black corset paired with black shorts as they danced gracefully into the song.

Background dancers wore similar outfits as they filled the whole screen with their exceptional choreography.

"Sometimes it's tragic, so problematic / People are cryin' for it, people are dyin' for it / Always the reason, we still believe it / Somethin' that leaves us hurtin' is worth it," the duo sang in the chorus.

Fans couldn't help but rave in the beauty of the song and the music video.

"The texture of their voices, the harmony and delivery is so beautiful and perfect. The piano sounds therapeutic. Usher and H.E.R did magic on this song," a user said on YouTube.

"This is such a masterpiece. Who choreographed this? Everything, from the dancers, to the skin glowing in every different shade, to the absolute most romantic and sentimental song sung by two very gifted voices in the game," another praised.

The Color Purple Golden Globe Awards 2024

Fantasia Barrino earned her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for the outstanding reprisal of her role in the film adaptation of "The Color Purple" musical. Barrino famously played the role on Broadway in 2007. (via Variety)

Also coming from the same film, Danielle Brooks also earned her very first Golden Globes nomination for reprising her role Sofia in the film adaptation. She played Sofia on the musical revival in 2015 where she earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
