Blueface had an epic start of the year.

Social media users were left shocked after seeing "Blueface dead" on X's trending list. While this sparked rumors that the musician, born Johnathan Jamall Porter, died on January 1, the buzz had been dismissed and clarified.

What Happened to Blueface?

Blueface's fans who clicked the link took them to the page where Blueface's name and the word "dead" appeared. It turned out that the death hoax started after internet users reacted to a user's inquiry that included the rapper.

"The person assigned to your birth month has to remain UNPROBLEMATIC for 1 year to save your life. Are you in good hands?" the caption read.

Blueface was assigned in the June part of the celebrity calendar.

One said, "blueface? I'm dead the first day of the year."

"blue face dumba-- gon have me dead within a week," another wrote, while a third person added, "I have Blueface, yeah I'm dead."

Blueface has yet to comment on the buzz, but he indirectly responded to the death hoax by sharing posts online. On January 1, he uploaded a promotional post for a cannabis delivery company where he was seen alive and healthy.

It was not the first time he caught himself in the same ring.

In 2018, a death hoax claimed he died after being shot in his apartment. Another rumor emerged in April 2019 as the public said he died from a drug overdose.

Blueface Hospitalized in 2023

Multiple news outlets - including CBS News and Los Angeles Times - reported Blueface's hospitalization in August. They cited authorities who confirmed the rapper was stabbed at a Los Angeles boxing gym before his scheduled boxing match.

A video of the incident was made public, showing what happened before, during and after the stabling.

One man was seen confronting Blueface before trainer David Kaminsky stepped in between them. When the 26-year-old "Respect My Cryppin" rapper approached the man and punched him several times, the man took out an object and stabbed Blueface in the leg before leaving the scene.

The suspect reportedly left in a black Tesla Model S. He was soon arrested and identified as Brandon Henry Snell, who posted a bond and was released the following day.
