Before his death, Elvis Presley was still able to sing one final song that wrapped up his career.

Presley left everyone heartbroken when he was found dead by his then-fiancee, Ginger Alden, inside Graceland's bathroom on August 16, 1977. He had a scheduled concert in Portland, Me., but could not sleep before the show.

While he was not able to perform in his scheduled concert, his friends got the chance to hear him sing his one final song hours before his passing.

Elvis Presley's Last Song Revealed

Presley invited his cousin Billy Smith and his wife, Jo, to play racquetball in pursuit of helping himself sleep before his concert. The couple agreed and started the game, but it immediately ended when the singer accidentally hit himself with his racquet.

In Peter Guralnick's book, "Careless Love: The Unmaking of Elvis Presley," the author revealed that the group went to the lounge area where Presley played several songs.

He ended his exclusive performance with "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain," a song he had a recorded version of at Graceland in 1976.

Smith also revealed on the Memphis Mafia Kid YouTube channel that Presley also sang "Unchained Melody" that night.

Hours later, he was found unresponsive and was eventually proclaimed dead.

What Happened Before Elvis Presley's Death?

A day before his passing, he and Alden visited his dentist, Lester Hoffman, because of toothache. His personal physician, Dr. Nichopoulos, prescribed him six Dilaudid tablets after he asked him for painkillers.

After the visit, he asked his stepbrother, Ricky Standly, to get them from the pharmacy at Baptist Memorial Hospital and consumed them before taking a second package of pills.

According to Alden, they started talking about their wedding plans in the wee hours of August 16 before he was found unresponsive.

"He was in a good mood, we had just set a wedding date literally hours earlier and he told me a couple of weeks before he passed that he had been off too long," she said. "He was ready to go back on stage, something he loved with all of his being."

Presley was pronounced dead at the Baptist Memorial Hospital hours later.

Aside from his heart issue, he also suffered from weight issues and other different health problems, including glaucoma, hypertension, liver damage, and an enlarged colon.
