Mexican actress and singer Ana Ofelia Murguía passed away at age 90 on New Year's Eve. The actress is best known globally for her role as Mama Coco in "Coco" in 2017. Murguia had been acting since 1954 in Mexico in plays and on-screen roles.

Murguía has had a remarkable career and has been a long-standing representation of talent and theater. Receiving the Ingmar Bergman Medal for Acting in Mexico from National Autonomous University in April of 2023, Murguía explained how she didn't think this kind of attention would be for her with people applauding her and getting out of their seats to praise her.

Murguía concluded her thank you speech by explaining how hard work can pay off and encouraged the audience to work hard as well.

The actress lived a fulfilling life with numerous roles and a variety of experiences that have lasted a lifetime.
