Britney Spears is making her way back to the recording studio and she's getting help from this generation's lyrical geniuses.
Spears has been slowly returning to music after her controversial conservatorship. Although she has released new music in the past years, she has yet to release a full-blown project in a decade.
Britney Spears New Album 2024 Songwriters
According to Page Six, Britney Spears has been on the hunt for people to be included in her upcoming new album.
Britney Spears' new album, which would be her tenth overall, will include Charli XCX and Julia Michaels as songwriters
The Sun was the first to report Charli XCX's involvement in the project.
"The Britney album is being kept top secret. Work has been going on behind the scenes for quite a while to gather a series of killer songs to bring Britney back with a bang," the insider dished out. "She is known as one of the biggest pop stars of the 21st century so there is pressure for the music to be great. Charli has a great track record when it comes to writing clever pop song[s]."
Apparently, Charli XCX returned to the studio earlier to start writing songs using Britney's guidance on what she wanted her sound and songs to be.
"She came up with a really strong track that is expected to make it onto the album, which Britney's team hope[s] will be out in 2024," the source added.
For those who do not know, Charli XCX has written for the likes of Raye, Blondie, Gwen Stefani, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, and Selena Gomez, among many others.

Julia Michaels As A Songwriter
As for Julia Michaels, she has been nominated for four Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Country Song. She has also written for Selena Gomez, H.E.R., Nick Jonas, Justin Bieber, Fifth Harmony, and Linkin Park, among many others.
Michaels has recently made waves in the music industry after being tapped to write the soundtrack for Disney's "Wish."
Her song, "This Wish," performed by Ariana DeBose, has been nominated for Best Original Song for Animated Film at the 2023 Hollywood Music in Media Awards, Best Song at the 2024 Astra Awards, and Best Original Song for the 2024 Critics' Choice Movie Awards.
