Rod Stewart's generosity knows no bounds. When Rod Stewart and his family checked out of a five-star hotel in Perthshire, Scotland, they left an almost $13,000 gratuity for the workers.

The "Maggie May" crooner celebrated New Year's Eve at the Gleneagles Hotel, where rooms start at over $2,000, with his wife Penny Lancaster and their two boys, Alistair and Liam. He praised the staff's efforts throughout the hectic holiday season.

He told the Daily Record, "I've been lucky enough to stay in some of the top hotels in the world and the service at Gleneagles is second to none."

"The staff do a terrific job at a very hectic time of the year and deserve every penny. It's Scottish hospitality at its very best," she added.

Apart from the astounding gratuity, Stewart also provided some financial guidance to the company.
Stewart,78, jokingly said, "I advised the boys and girls at Gleneagles to invest the money wisely: stick the lot on Scotland to win the Euros."

Sean, the singer of "Forever Young," and his spouse Jody didn't seem to accompany the family on their winter vacation.

The Grammy winner chose to move his family full-time to the UK and listed his estate in Los Angeles for $70 million over the summer, so the kind gift is insignificant in comparison.

Regarding his plan to sell, a source close to the singer told Page Six, "Rod is incredible for a man his age and still has boundless energy but he's always been canny so it's no surprise that he's thinking about what happens when he can no longer perform."

"He also wants to make sure everyone is well looked after when he's no longer around, and he is also really thinking about how he ensures his legacy."Although Stewart has been in talks to sell his music library, no suitable buyer has been identified.

Many BBC viewers were drawn to Rod Stewart on New Year's Eve, and not just because of his singing prowess. The 78-year-old sang with a lengthy list of other singing luminaries on Jools Holland's Annual Hootenanny on the BBC.

The performance was appropriate given that Stewart and Holland are collaborating on a new album that will be out next month.

Additionally, Stewart and Holland worked together to perform a number of songs, including "Almost Like Being in Love" and "Ain't Misbehavin'," to give fans a preview of what to expect on the forthcoming CD.

Fans, however, were more talking about Stewart's choice of attire for the event than the possibility of new music. For the performance, the Maggie May rocker wore a dinner jacket with stripes in black and gold, paired with a stunning gold tie.
