Nicki Minaj dropped her highly anticipated album yet; "Pink Friday 2" came 13 years after the release of her debut album, "Pink Friday,' and five years after her latest album "Queen" in 2018.

Unlike her other album cycles, the 'Super Bass" singer did not drop singles or music videos ahead of the release of "Pink Friday 2," which surprised her fans.

During her interview with Ebro Darden, Minaj revealed why she decided against it, especially after her song "FTCU" went viral on social media.

"This is a body of work!" Minaj exclaimed. "And I didn't even want to put out singles. I purposely don't have videos out--because I want you all to listen to the music."

Netizens had different reactions about the rapper's decision to forgo releasing a single, and just drop the whole album in one go.

"Ever since Beyonce stopped dropping videos, all of a sudden nobody wanna drop a music video. I know people don't watch them like they used to but visuals are still needed and cute," one wrote.

"See now when you write your own raps you take your time with your craft!! The other girls are just spending millions on a cool music video but the lyrics are trash."

Is Nicki Minaj Flopping?

Meanwhile, others claim that Minaj and her label are simply "trying to save money."

"She can't afford a music video & her label doesn't give her a budget bc she's tanking at age 41 [by the way]."

"They're all just trying to save money. Videos cost a ton and they don't really bring any more revenue back directly, although I would argue that it's an investment in your overall career and certainly does pay off on the back end. I think people are just getting cheap and giving us less. It isn't much deeper than that. I will respect the hell out of the first artist to admit this," another added.

Nicki Minaj's Victory Lap With 'Pink Friday 2'

While many claim that Minaj is slowly fizzling out and becoming old news, the rapper has proved that she is anything but.

According to reports, the "Super Freaky" rapper entered the hip-hop scene, which is a male-dominated genre, and paved the way for other female rappers who came after her, like Cardi B, Ice Spice, and Megan Thee Stallion.

In "Pink Friday 2," Minaj showed off her songwriting prowess, connections, and influence on the rap game by inviting some of the biggest rappers in music like Drake, J. Cole, and more.
