After a remarkable 14-year journey together, Christina Aguilera is preparing to take the monumental step of marrying Matthew Rutler.

However, before sealing their love in matrimony, the talented songstress is steadfastly requesting one significant stipulation.

Sources have disclosed to the National Enquirer that the "Fighter" artist expertly managed to find multiple reasons to delay her wedding plans since her engagement to the skilled guitarist from the Nate Mott Band in February 2014.

Wedding Delays On Purpose

According to insider reports, Christina Aguilera has finally succumbed to her partner's insistence on tying the knot.

"Matt has convinced her it's time to make an honest man of him. She's agreed - if he signs a very severe prenup."

The individual further disclosed, "He has expressed his willingness to sign any required documents. However, his perspective may alter upon realizing the extent of its intensity!"

The former "The Voice" coach and the previous associate on the production - who initially met in November 2009 while collaborating on the film "Burlesque" released in 2010 - share parenthood of their nine-year-old daughter named Summer.

Additionally, Christina assumes the role of a mother to her 15-year-old son Max, fathered by her former husband Jordan Bratman.

The insider also firmly believes that Matthew and Christina should have no hesitation in solemnizing their commitment.

Changes

The insider went on to say that it is Christina who has been causing delays. Her main concern is that things might change once they are married.

However, it appears that she is finally ready to conquer this fear and has already started making arrangements for a wedding on Valentine's Day.

In October 2010, Chrstina Aguilera decided to end her marriage with Jordan, after being together for five years.

The "Reflection" hitmaker wanted to move forward and embrace a new chapter in her life. In the same year, during a conversation with People, she expressed her unwavering belief in the institution of marriage, despite the recent turn of events.

Simultaneously, Christina's journey took an exciting turn as she embarked on a blossoming relationship with Matthew.

"I know one day I'll be able to feel that again for someone," the former "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" star continued. "That idea will never die."

Despite her deep affection for Matthew, Christina emphasized in an interview from December 2010 that she would not hastily leap into a relationship.

"I'm not trying to jump into anything. I just left a five-year marriage. I'm taking it slow and trying to be happy."

After almost four years of being in a relationship, the couple decided to take the next step and got engaged on Valentine's Day in the year 2014.

Now, a decade later, it is clear that Christina remained true to her promise of not rushing into another marriage following her divorce.
