On Friday (Sept. 12), the highly anticipated documentary that offers in depth look into the inter-generational and interracial musical influence of Memphis will be released to the public.

To commemorate the film's release, Yo Gotti premiered his collaboration with late blues singer Bobby "Blue" Bland. The two collaborated on an new rendition of "Ain't No Sunshine."

The video for the collaboration features beautiful shots of Memphis as well as footage of Gotti and Bland working with a live band in the studio.

The revamped version of "Ain't No Sunshine" is featured on the film's official soundtrack, which is now available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon.

Take Me To The River: Music From The Motion Picture also features artists like Snoop Dogg, who star in Martin Shore's award-winning documentary. The album features "I Forgot To Be Your Lover," another revamped collaboration by William Bell featuring Snoop Dogg.

The film's distributor Richard Abramowitz spoke highly on the release back in July, telling Indie Wire Take Me To The River "is not just a movie, it's an experience for the soul. Bringing together musical talents from various generations creates a bridge of understanding between the young and old about where their musical history is rooted."

The film premiered earlier this year at SXSW, where it won the 24 Beats Per Second Audience Award, and has also screened at the 2014 Bonaroo Music and Arts Festival to critical acclaim.

"I cried and I laughed when I watched this film," Snoop said at the film's premiere. "The world needs to know all about this music ––and it's not just music, it's a lifestyle."

The film is narrated by Terrence Howard and features a soulful ensemble that includes soul singers William Bell, Mavis Staples, and Otis Clay, child rapper Lil P-Nut, bluesmen Charlie Musselwhite, Bobby "Blue" Bland and Bobby Rush, Academy Award winning rappper Frayser Boy, and The North Mississippi All-Stars.
