Liam Gallagher has talked about the circumstances surrounding his brother Noel Gallagher's departure from Oasis, as well as what happened before and after Noel left the band.

Although Liam Gallagher has contested what transpired and claimed that he was the reason why Noel could no longer perform as a member of Oasis, the 51-year-old singer-songwriter said that his "world caved in" following the altercation, which Noel, 56, believes was the impetus for his departure.

The band, which was founded in the 1990s, broke up after Noel and Liam Gallagher got into a heated argument backstage at the 2009 Rock-en-Seine festival in Paris.

While Noel has placed the blame squarely on his younger brother, Liam has now disputed the reasons for his departure, claiming that his actions didn't change while they were in the band.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, the singer expressed surprise that Noel used his actions as a justification for leaving the band, claiming that it was just this behavior that set Oasis unique from other acts at the time.

Liam Gallagher clarified: "That's what made Oasis what it was. I wasn't any different, but all of a sudden, he's turned into Ronan Keating or some soft c***, going: 'We can't have that behaviour.'"

It can be remembered that Noel, the guitarist, stated in his announcement that he "simply could not go on working with Liam Gallagher a day longer" when he announced his departure from Oasis.

While Noel continued to make new music with his band, Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds, Liam Gallagher described his exit as a "absolute nightmare" and sought to decide what to do next.

Liam Gallagher said: "I was sitting at home with no management, no office, and no one to really speak to, while Noel was still walking into his big management office having everyone running around after him, getting smart and dissing people.

"Looking back with hindsight, you can go: 'You're a big boy' and all that, but when you've had all that stuff for 20 years... I could barely tie my shoelace let alone run my business or my life. All that support was taken away, but little Noely G had it all still there."

The issue of whether Oasis would reunite has lingered since Noel Gallagher decided to end the band in 2009 following a brawl involving a broken guitar onstage. But over the course of the past year, rumors about Gallagher have been more prevalent.

Matty Healy, the vocalist for 1975, questioned Oasis at the start of 2023. "What are Oasis doing?" He asked. "Can you imagine being in potentially, right now, still, the coolest band in the world, and not doing it because you're in a mard with your brother?"
