Anthony Kiedis, popularly known for being the frontman of Red Hot Chili Peppers, released a memoir titled "Scar Tissue" years ago and it's reportedly being made into a biopic; check out all the details below.

According to a report published by Variety, Universal got the rights to the musician's book. The published material is going to be transformed as a movie and Kiedis will be one of the producers for the upcoming project.

He will not be alone as he will be accompanied by Brian Grazer from Imagine Entertainment, and Guy Oseary, who is the man behind RHCP's management that started in 2021.

The on-screen adaptation promises "a shockingly candid portrait of an artist, addict, and ringleader,"

The film will also revolve around a father and son duo that are within the 70s and 80s punk scene in Los Angeles fueled by substance.

"This story examines, without judgment, how all of his experiences shaped the music that was eventually embraced by millions," the press release reads.

What to Expect on Anthony Kiedis' Biopic?

As of this writing, details behind the upcoming biopic has yet to be publicized. The musician and the production team behind the project didn't share more information about the official cast and release date.

However, based on the book itself, the story will revolve around Anthony Kiedis' life from the moment he was welcomed to the world in the early 60s until the book's release in 2004.

In the memoir, he revealed that his first drug experience was at the age of 11 with his father who was a former drug dealer.

The book also tackles his attempt to get clean and seek help for his drug problems, his relapse, and many more.

Anthony Kiedis Regretted His Book for a Moment?

The musician previously said in an interview that he regretted "Scar Tissue" for a while because it caused him some pain.

However, in the long run, he realized that there were a lot of people reading it not just in regular reading places but also in hospitals, prisons, and more.

He later realized that his story had a positive effect to the readers.

"I realized that the whole point of writing that book wasn't for me, but to show that somebody can go all the way down and come all the way back and have a productive, successful happy interesting life," he added.
