D.R.A.M. has released his debut album Big Baby D.R.A.M. with possibly the best album cover of the year. The 14-track LP only comes with three features, but he makes them count as they are from Lil Yachty, Young Thug and Erykah Badu.

The album is anchored in the middle by his unlikely hit "Broccoli" that eventually peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 charts at No. 6 and then the recent single "Cash Machine" that has a similar, fun-loving vibe to it. However, the album isn't all just broccoli and cash, there is plenty of substance on the edges.

D.R.A.M. gets into the complexities of love throughout the LP. On "WiFi" he examines modern love where it seems as though it is more important to be connected with the digital world than the person you love in front of you. This idea is continued in "Cute," where he walks through the steps of young love, innocently asking a girl out that he has fallen head over heels for. This all comes crashing down in "Change My #," where he tries to distance himself from some ex-lover who he never wants to be in contact with again.

The beats can be radio-friendly turn-ups like on "Broccoli," but there can also be slower, more R&B-influenced records such as "WiFi."

The LP shows his versatility as an artist. He can sing the hooks on each of the records, though it does help to have someone Erykah Badu lend a hand on "WiFi" and then also rap the verses.

Hampton, Virginia rapper D.R.A.M. has exploded in the past year. His single "Cha Cha" became a internet hit and was involved in controversy with the beat for "Hotline Bling." He has since lent his voice on several features, singles and an EP in preparation for this album.

In support of the album D.R.A.M., will head out on tour across the United States to kick off 2017. He will start in Nashville on Jan. 13 and end in Los Angeles on Feb. 11. In between he will perform in cities like Austin, New York City, Philadelphia and Detroit. Get tickets here.
