The threats may have spread outside Hawkins, Indiana when “Stranger Things” Season 2 hits Netflix on October 27. The show’s creators Matt and Ross Duffer teased that the highly anticipated new season will open in a completely different place than the viewers are used to. Unfortunately, they did not say where the place is exactly.

Matt teased that he liked opening the show in a place in an urban environment instead of Hawkins. He said it is all about broadening and expanding their world. "I want people thinking maybe they've clicked on the show and then, boom, you realize 'Oh now we're still in it’,” he further revealed.

Meanwhile, the Duffer brothers talked about wanting to officially call “Stranger Things” Season 2 as “Stranger Things 2” but met some resistance from Netflix. The streaming giant thought that sequels are generally known to be bad reports Entertainment Weekly. Matt countered that “Aliens” and “Toy Story 2” among others prove this theory wrong.

According to Shaun Levy, a director for episodes in the two seasons, said that Netflix is treating “Stranger Things” Season 2 like it was a big movie. It’s approach to the marketing, publicity, licensing and merchandising are closer to a feature film than a new season of a television series according to Levy.

The Duffers are not giving away much in terms of the content of “Stranger Things” Season 2. Ross, however, revealed that the new monster will be named the “shadow monster.” He added that it is connected to the singular threat that is tied into the shape that Will sees in the sky reports Screen Rant.

The series has already been renewed for a third season. The sad news is that the Duffers are planning to make Season 4 as the final one for the series. In the meantime, Ross has committed that “Stranger Things” Season 2 will get crazier than it ever got last season where each episode will be building on the last one.
