In reagards to the company's deal with Disney, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy established that the corporation is "in talks" about a new film but a script hasn't yet been crafted. -

Bob Weir's 'The Other One' Documentary Trailer Explores Friendship With Jerry Garcia [WATCH]
In the upcoming Netflix documentary The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir, Grateful Dead fans get the opportunity to follow Weir throughout his life and career as he encountered recognition, drug experimentation, strength through family and everything in between. "I've led a kind of unusual life," Bob Weir states in the trailer. "I was a 16-year-old kid when I started playing with the Grateful Dead. The music was an adventure...Our fans were a little bit different. We've got kind of a little gypsy entourage. You just had to see it." Directed by God Bless Ozzy Osbourne’s Mike Fleiss, the documentary will make its Netflix debut on May 22—spanning details from Weirs youth in Palo Alto, California to his dedication to the Dead and his remarkable friendship with front man Jerry Garcia. In the trailer, Weir continued to highlight his connection with Garcia and electric guitars by saying "I could intuit and be there when he got there with a little surprise for him," he says.The Other One includes interviews and conversations with musical companions and colleagues including Sammy Hagar, Bruce Hornsby and Mike Gordon as well as Grateful Dead and family members and Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann of the Dead, notes Entertainment Weekly. "If you don't have an ego, you can be the best Number Two on the planet," Sammy Hagar of Van Halen said. "That's kind of what Bob became. It makes him special."Aside from interviews, The Other One incorporates an abundance of performance footage—previously seen as well as archived. "We certainly unearthed a lot of buried treasure from the Grateful Dead archive while making this film," Fleiss said, notes Rolling Stone. The Dead will play three farewell shows for their 50th anniversary at the bay area’s Levi’s Stadium and Chicago’s Soldier Field. -

Sony Pulls Adele, Miguel, Hozier, Passion Pit Music From Soundcloud
The relationship between the majors and Soundcloud has been complicated. The labels know they need the influential discovery and streaming service to help find new artists and to promote their own music. However they are frustrated at the copyright infringement and lack of monetization opportunities present on the platform. Sony apparently is fed up with Soundcloud as the two parties are at an impasse over licensing negotiations. In response, Sony has pulled down the pages of more than a dozen artists including, Miguel, Adele, Hozier, Kelly Clarkson, Passion Pit, Leon Bridges and MS MR. -

Yesterday (May 6), the break in One Direction got ugly when Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson fired shots at each other (and Malik's friend/producer Naughty Boy) on Twitter. Tomlinson called "Zaughty Boy" a bunch of 12-year-olds and Malik told his former bandmate to get a life. After the small spat (which remarkably is still up on their Twitter pages), the boys logged back on to social media to defend themselves and their fans. -
Rosie O'Donnell's Ex Michelle Rounds Skips Custody Court Hearing
Rosie O'Donnell arrived in a New York City courtroom earlier this week ready to do battle with her ex over custody of their adopted 2-year-old but there was a problem, Michelle Rounds was a no-show. Just last week Rounds spoke to the press about O'Donnell's parenting style, claiming that she puts their child at risk by downing a bottle of wine and smoking weed each night. Rounds has filed for sole custody and also has requested that O'Donnell be subjected to random drug testing. Unfortunately, it seems that little was resolved because Rounds opted to sit out the hearing, claiming that the toddler in question was sick. -

Just when it was starting to really look like Bravo was actively gearing up to bring back The Real Housewives of New Jersey we're now learning that it's not going to happen anytime soon, if at all. The NBC upfronts are a crucial event because it's when the network unveils its' upcoming programming for next few months and introduces potential advertisers to their biggest stars. Apparently, no one from RHONJ was invited to the May 11 event, leading some to wonder if the show is going to be shelved completely or take an extended hiatus until its' biggest star, Teresa Giudice is released from prison late this year. -
