It's official! Kylie Minogue just won the first-ever Best Pop Dance Recording at this year's Grammy awards! Get to know more about the track below.

According to Billboard, this year marks the first time for the category to appear. Aside from Minogue's hit track "Padam Padam," other contenders were Troye Sivan's "Rush," "Miracle" by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding, "Baby Don't Hurt Me" by David Guetta, Anne-Marie, and Coi Leray, and "One in a Million" by Bebe Rexha and David Guietta.

Unfortunately, Kylie Minogue herself was not present at the awards show, which took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, but her co-writer, Peter Rycroft AKA LostBoy was present to receive the award.

"I just want to say thank you to the icon that is Kylie for believing in this record. It started in a tiny little studio in north London and she's taken it around the world and I just want to give a big shout-out to Ina Wroldsen that I made the record with, means a lot. Thank you," he said in his acceptance speech.

LostBoy Shares More Information About 'Padam Padam'

Backstage after accepting the award, LostBoy shared more information about the song, saying the weirdest place he heard the track being played on was a funeral.

For him, it was "dark" because people are not laughing.

Before she won the award, Minogue spoke at the MusiCares 2024 Person of the Year where she noted that there's two parts of her life, one is pre-Padam, and the other one is post-Padam.

"We didn't know it would become a viral sensation, and it reconnects me with a lot of people, but also a different generation, so they've put 'Padam' with 'Can't Get You Out of My Head,' 20 years apart but [they] kind of live together," she added.

This is Minogue's second Grammy Award because her first one was for the track "Come Into My Worl" under the Best Dance Recording category back in 2004.
