According to the event's official website, the show was founded during the AIDS pandemic and they aim "to improve the health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition."
Last years, the charity organization was able to cook and deliver 4 million medically-tailored meals to over 14,700 people in New York who had been affected by severe illness.
3 million of those meals were funded thanks to the concert, which began in 2017.
