Billboard is honoring Filipino popstar Sarah Geronimo in this year's Billboard Women in Music Awards.

Geronimo, one of the biggest names in Philippine music will be awarded the Global Force Award.

According to Billboard Philippines, Sarah Geronimo is the first born-and-raised Filipina that will be awarded in the prestigious award ceremony since its inception in 2007.

The singer will be joining Brazilian singer-songwriter Luísa Sonza and Italian artist Annalisa as the inaugural set of honorees for the award. This is also the first time that the Global Force Award will be part of the awards ceremony.

Karol G will be awarded the top honor this year as the Woman of the Year after being a force to reckon with in Latin music in the past few years. Ice Spice is taking home the Hitmaker of the Year for her four rocking Billboard Hot 100 hits in the first few years of her mainstream success. Victoria Monet will also be awarded the Rising Star of the Year for her amassed success in the past year as a solo recording artist after proving herself as one of the biggest songwriters in the past few years.

Kylie Minogue's Icon Award is a well-deserved one for the Australian music icon who has been in the industry for decades already. Maren Morris will be awarded the Visionary Award after trailblazing important conversations in country music in the past year.

English artist Charli XCX will be receiving the Powerhouse Award, an overdue award for someone who has been involved with various successful projects in the past.

Grammy-winning African artist Tems receives the Breakthrough Award along with Puerto Rican artist Young Miko for the Impact Award.

Who is Sarah Geronimo?

Sarah Geronimo is a Filipino singer and actress known for her outstanding impact on Philippine music.

She has been a recipient of various accolades, including an Mnet Asian Music Award, an MTV Europe Music Award, a Classic Rock Roll of Honour Award, and a World Music Award. In the Philippines, she has received 15 Awit Awards, the country's highest music award-giving body. She has also hosted multiple seasons of "The Voice of the Philippines" along with Black Eyed Peas lead Apl De Ap and Broadway icon Lea Salonga.

Geronimo has over 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify as of this writing.

She will be flying to Los Angeles, California on Mar. 6, 2024, at the YouTube Theatre to accept the award. The 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards will be hosted by actress Tracee Ellis-Ross.
