Ben Affleck had one wish before marrying Jennifer Lopez, but he never received it from his now-wife.
Affleck and Lopez's love story is among the unique ones in Hollywood as they had already planned their marriage 20 years before reuniting to exchange vows finally. Over the past years, they have been appearing in the same headlines again, something Affleck reportedly had to "compromise."
Ben Affleck Had One Wish for His Marriage to Jennifer Lopez
Lopez decided to tell their love story in her documentary, "The Greatest Love Story Never Told."
"I've been married four times now. I used to be terrified of being alone. I didn't know what else to do by myself," she said. "I've decided to tell my story that I've never shared with anybody in the world."
In a clip, the "Justice League" actor admitted feeling hesitant about sharing their relationship with the public. With that, he reportedly wanted to keep what they had as private as possible when they got back together.
"Getting back together, I said, 'Listen, one of the things I don't want is a relationship on social media,'" he recalled. "Then, I sort of realized it's not a fair thing to ask. It's sort of like, you're gonna marry a boat captain and you go, 'Well, I don't like the water.'"
Affleck reportedly realized what he wished for was unrealistic for Lopez as one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood.
With that, they devise a solution when they disagree on something.
"We're just two people with different kinds of approaches trying to learn to compromise," he said.
Ben Affleck Was Worried About the Attention
Affleck's admission came after a source told Life & Style (via OK! Magazine) how Affleck did not understand Lopez's decision to create the documentary and publicize their lives again.
"Ben has gotten very good at biting his tongue, but it's known that he's not happy at all about J.Lo's endless need for attention," the source said.
When Affleck married Lopez, he revealed he had to adjust as there would be a spotlight on their private things.
"The Greatest Love Story Never Told" premiered on Prime Video on February 27.
