Jennifer Lopez's friends set up an intervention for her due to fears she might be a sex addict in "This Is Me... Now: A Love Story."

Ben Affleck's wife has released her new film, where she portrays a fictionalized version of herself. In the film's trailer, Lopez looks like she is about to undergo sex addiction therapy because of her habit.

Jennifer Lopez Becomes a "Sex Addict" For Her Film

In one scene of "This Is Me... Now: A Love Story," Lopez gets welcomed by her worried friends at her home. From the dining table, they move to the living room and start sharing their thoughts with the star.

"We think you might be a sex addict," they say, which leaves Lopez in deep shock.

A similar scene was included in the trailer, showing Lopez opening herself up during a group therapy meeting.

"I learned the hard way - not all love stories have a happy ending," she shares. "Whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, the answer was always in love."

The film also pokes fun at Lopez's past relationships, as her character marries three different men before being alone in the final scene.

Is She a Real-Life Sex Addict?

In her interview (via Billboard), Lopez was asked regarding the scene with her friends in the film.

"People can think all kinds of things when they're seeing you from the outside, thinking they know what your life is, and you're like 'well that's actually the opposite of the truth', but it was nice to toy around with all of those ideas," she explained.

While the film has received positive responses, Lopez said during a press conference that she doubted her writing skills while working on the material. However, she found her track again after her husband, Ben Affleck, gave her sweet advice.

Meanwhile, the press conference attendees also learned about Lopez funding the entire film herself.

"This Is Me... Now: A Love Story" has been officially followed by "The Greatest Love Story Never Told," a documentary that explores Lopez and Affleck's relationship 20 years before and after reuniting and tying the knot.
