Sixpence None the Richer announced that their highly anticipated reunion, new album, and comeback tour are underway.

"For the first time in 23 years, the four of us are making music again," said vocalist Leigh Nash in a video uploaded on the band's social media accounts.

"We're Sixpence None the Richer, if you're new here, and we're getting to work with the first producer we ever worked with, Armand John Petri.

"[...] We're so excited; we're gonna be touring, we wanna see you, we wanna meet you, wanna hug you. For those who have been following along, thank you so much."

Sixpence None the Richer, or simply Sixpence, consists of four members: Nash, Matt Slocum, Justin Cary, and Dale Baker.

The band rose to prominence in the late 1990s to early 2000s, with the release of their 1998 hit song, "Kiss Me" and their cover of "There She Goes" by The La's.

Sixpence None the Richer Teasing Reunion

This is not the first time Sixpence has revealed their future plans of releasing new music and going on tour.

In 2023, Nash dropped her solo EP, "The Tide," which featured the band. According to New Release Today, the vocalist penned the first single with the same title alongside Slocum, Sam Ashworth, and Ruby Amanfu.

The band's announcement was met with cheers and excitement from their fans, who have been waiting for their return.

"OMG! Thank goodness I am still alive," one wrote.

"This is my sign," another added. "2024 is gonna be the best year of my adult life."

Some fans even began hinting at Sixpence to visit their countries once the album is out.

"Come to Toronto please."

'Hi from Melbourne, Australia."

"I can't wait. I hope you guys visit the Philippines again."

Sixpence None the Richer's Break Up in 2004

According to CNN, the band broke up in 2004, and they announced their disbandment through a letter addressed to their fans, published in CCM Magazine.

The band had been together for 10 years at that point, and they cited several different reasons as to why the decided to part ways.

Nash explained that she had a baby and wanted to devote her time to her family; on the other hand, Slocum explained how he wanted to travel and maybe even continue his studies, Billboard notes.
