Bob Marley's recently released biopic, "One Love," has received mixed feedback from critics. It was reported that not all reviews about the film were positive, but regardless, the legendary reggae icon's son thinks otherwise.

The late legend's son Ziggy Marley, who produces the movie, recently spoke with Variety to share his sentiments about the negative reactions the movie has received since its release.

"I remember when reviews came in. It was like, 'Let's see what the people say,'" he said.

According to People Magazine, the movie didn't receive the best comments from the public, as it only got 42% on Rotten Tomatoes. Regardless of the negative feedback, it was victorious in terms of sales as it earned $51 million in its initial opening, and at one point, it even became the third highest-grossing movie of 2024.

Ziggy Marley Says Movie Critics Were a Reflection of His Father's Music Career

Later in the interview, Ziggy noted that the responses to the movie reminded him of how critics shared their comments about his father's music back when he was releasing albums in the past.

"I was like, 'Yeah, this is actually perfect for something representing Bob. That the critics don't get it, but the people get it.' It was meant to be this way," he said.

He recalled the reviews for Bob's 1977 album "Exodus," which he produced with the Wailers. Critics labeled it a "terrible" record, but later, it became the album of the century.
