In contemporary music discourse, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé often share the spotlight as leading female artists of the current era.

Both recently released acclaimed albums, produced chart-topping hits, and earned prestigious Grammy awards.

But how does their connection extend to the legendary Bob Marley?

According to Forbes, all three musicians have dominated the US box office in the past six months.

While Swift and Beyoncé achieved this with concert documentaries, Marley's biographical film took the lead in terms of the highest-grossing theatrical releases in the country, showcasing his life story and incorporating his iconic brand and music.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour film transfixed audiences globally, clinching the No. 1 spot in numerous countries, including the US. It held the crown as America's highest-grossing film for two consecutive weeks. It maintained substantial revenue even after its peak, with consistent weekly earnings in the millions for months. Ultimately, it amassed an impressive sum exceeding $180 million domestically.

In the wake of Swift's triumph in cinema, Beyoncé followed suit with her grand entrance. Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé debuted atop the US box office during the weekend of December 1 through 3, 2023.

While its reign lasted briefly, the concert documentary swiftly amassed remarkable success, generating nearly $34 million in ticket sales in the US alone.

Meanwhile, Bob Marley: One Love claimed the No. 1 spot in the US from February 16, 2024 through February 18, 2024. Maintaining its popularity for three consecutive weeks, it eventually yielded to Dune: Part Two.

But Bob Marley: One Love has garnered close to $100 million at the US box office, with its trajectory still rising. Far from a regular concert or documentary, the film portrays the reggae legend's life and rise in the music industry.
