Genenis has some plans for its hit album Turn It On Again: The Hits. In honor of the compilation's 25th anniversary, Genesis plans to re-issue the album, which was originally released in 1999, and release it on vinyl for the  first time ever.

Turn It On Again: The Hits: Vinyl Edition

This debut vinyl edition, a two-LP black vinyl set, as well as the CD version of the record, will arrive on May 3.

Additionally, a limited edition two-LP Invisible Touch clear vinyl set will be released.

All versions of Turn It On Again: The Hits will feature artwork that is reminiscent of the album's original release, featuring the band's name composed of letters from earlier album covers. The album include 18 Genesis hits, including "Abacab," "Turn It On Again," "Mama," "Misunderstanding," "Throwing it All Away," "Invisible Touch," "Land of Confusion," "In Too Deep," and "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight."

All formats are now available for preorder.

Genesis in Dublin and Belfast 2020

When Genesis regrouped to perform in Dublin and Belfast in 2020, it was exciting news as Genesis hadn't performed live since the Live Earth concert in 2007. For the tour, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, and Tony Banks were accompanied by Daryl Stuermer on guitar and bass, and Nicholas Collins, Phil's son, on drums.

Due to health issues, Phil Collins first declared his retirement in 2002, but changed his mind. In 2017, he returned with a solo tour. Nicholas, his son, replaced him behind the kit because his injuries sustained during his drumming career have required multiple surgeries.

Genesis History

English rock group Genesis was founded in 1967 at Godalming, Surrey's Charterhouse School.

The original lineup of Genesis included guitarist Mike Rutherford, drummer Chas Stewart, keyboardist Tony Banks, vocalist Peter Gabriel, and guitarist Anthony Phillips.

After combining the remains of two earlier bands, the group recorded a tape and sent it to Jonathan King at Decca Records, who changed the band's name to Genesis.

Because an American group had the same name, Genesis thought it good to change their name to Revelation and released their album, From Genesis to Revelation. However, fans did not like the name, and the album only sold 650 copies. As a result, they went back to being Genesis.
