Ally Brooke has been one of the most vocal members of Fifth Harmony to share insights and tease the group's potential reunion, but netizens do not think her comments and revelations are all that helpful.

According to Pop Crave, during the singer's appearance on Keke Palmer's Bab, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, she revealed that Simon Cowell gave her a huge responsibility: "After we were formed, Simon pulled me to the side and he said, 'You are the glue who holds the group together.'"

"And I was like, 'Oh my God, what?'... It was like a crown that he was giving me," she continued.

The news was met with negativity from netizens on X (formerly known as Twitter), who accused Brooke of lying.

"She just made that up," an X user wrote. "Because it was clearly Camila. No wonder they [broke] up after her leaving the group."

Fifth Harmony Not Having a Reunion

After months of Brooke teasing that Fifth Harmony is working on something together, fans initially thought the group would be having a long-awaited reunion.

In fact, Page Six reported that the girl group was looking into releasing new music after their songs resurfaced and went viral on TikTok.

However, the report was quickly debunked by sources close to the group, noting that the members are currently working on their solo projects, and there is no way they will set that aside for a reunion.

Netizens began comparing Brooke to One Direction's Liam Payne; "Not her pulling a Liam Payne," one wrote.

Meanwhile, some of Fifth Harmony's fans defended the singer, explaining that Brooke is the eldest in the group.

Liam Payne Draws Flak For One Direction Comments

In 2022, Payne received backlash for claiming that One Direction was formed around him.

"Part of the reason One Direction was made was because of Simon's promise to me that 'In two years, I'll make this work for you,'" he shared. "So he kind of started with my face and then worked around."

A year later, Payne admitted that he went to rehab after saying those comments.

"[Because of] my own frustrations with my own career and where I kind of landed, I took shots at everybody else, which is wrong, so obviously I want to apologize for that in the first instance, because that's definitely not me," he reportedly said.
