Lemmy Kilmister's ashes have been divided based on the late musician's wish.

The music industry mourned Lemmy - born Ian Fraser Kilmister - when he passed away on December 28, 2015, at the age of 70. Despite the loss, he made sure he would still be connected to his loved ones and fans.

Where Are Lemmy Kilmister's Ashes?

Fans can find Lemmy's remains in different parts of the world.

Lemmy's loved ones scattered a part of his remains at the Wacken Open Air Festival in August 2023. Organizers honored the late rocker by creating a special memorial dedicated to him.

"Lemmy coming back to Wacken is an enormous honor for us - words can hardly express how enormous," co-organizer Thomas Jensen wrote in a statement.

"There has always been a special connection between Motorhead and Wacken Open Air. Hardly any band has played here more often. The fact that his journey also ends here will forever hold a special meaning," he added.

In April, some of his ashes will be enshrined at the Rainbow Bar and Grill, according to Ultimate Classic Rock & Culture.

Meanwhile, an urn with his ashes will also be displayed at the Bloodstock Festival at Catton Park in Derbyshire, England, from August 8 to 11. It will then become a permanent exhibit at Nottingham's Rock City.

Aside from displaying the ashes, Lemmy's remains were also placed inside bullets that were given to his friends and family. Motörhead's tour manager and production assistant also had tattoos using his ashes.

"This is the kind of thing that Lemmy would have loved to have done - to be thought of, to be brought into this small circle of friends where you actually own a little bit of Lemmy's ashes, and you wear it around your neck on a pendant and he's close to your heart in the truest sense in terms of his mortal remains.

That's just mind-blowingly powerful," Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford said after receiving one of the bullets.
