Unlike many artists who release albums after their unfortunate deaths, it appears Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch Winehouse, is not planning to let that happen. According to the BBC, the family will not drop new music from the artist.

Her father claimed that while there are certainly some unheard versions of his daughter's material, he feels that releasing it would "rip off" the fans she loves so much.

"We're not about to put out new albums with different takes on Back to Black," the singer's father told the BBC. "She probably did about 15 different versions of Back to Black. We wouldn't do that. It's not fair. We don't want to rip people off."

Winehouse's statement came just after a statue of his daughter was unveiled yesterday (Sept. 14) in her hometown of London on what would have been her 31st birthday.

Mitch Winehouse ended with, "There is no new music."

As earlier reported by Music Times, the aforementioned statue was sculpted by London-based artist Scott Eaton, who noted that while he developed a number of ideas for the sculpture, it was decided that the piece of art would be more of an "amalgamation of influences."

He stated, "Hopefully by taking many important moments in her history and drawing on those, the piece comes close to capturing the essence of Amy."

Check out photos of the statue here on Music Times and let us know if they succeed in capturing Winehouse's essence.

Amy Winehouse died back in July 2011 at the age of 27 after a long battle with drugs and alcohol.
