Sexxy Red Responds to Joe Budden’s Allegation That Drake Is Secretly Getting Paid to Promote Her: ‘Dumb’

Joe Budden recently made controversial comments about Sexxy Red's career, saying Drake allegedly got paid to promote the female rapper. More recently, the musician finally responded to the theory, and she hit back with a savage response.

According to Uproxx, Budden took to his podcast to allege that Drake is being paid to hang out with Sexxy Red to help her career take off. She had been making rounds on social media, posting sweet photos with the "Take Care" hitmaker.

"You think [Drake] just likes being around Sexyy Red?" he said during an episode of his show.

More recently, Sexxy Red savagely slammed the podcast host as she quote-retweeted a clip from the episode and wrote, "They so dumb."

Drake has yet to share his side of the issue as of this writing.

Sexxy Red Defended by YesJulz

Sexxy Red might've responded in a short way; YesJulz pointed out something about Drake, saying the rapper likes to build up the talents of musicians with potential.

"Drake has always embraced rising talent organically & yeah, he probably does like being around her that much- she seems to be fun and have good energy," YesJulz wrote on X.

She added, "This perspective says more about the commentator than the subjects imo."

Joe Budden Questions Drake, Sexxy Red's Friendship

The recent news comes after Budden took to his podcast to allege that Drake is "getting paid to promote Sexxy Red," whose career took off after the release of "Pound Town."

One of his co-hosts, Trevor Robinson, defended the pair's relationship, asking Budden if this was confirmed or just his thoughts, to which he replied, asking him back if Drake likes to be around the female rapper.

Drake and Sexxy Red have been sharing photos and videos on social media over the past year, and fans have wondered if the two are dating.

In one post, Drake captioned his photo with the rapper as he wrote: "Just met my rightful wife." They went on to post sweet snaps together, one of which included the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker kissing the musician on the cheek.

As of this writing, neither Drake nor Sexxy Red has confirmed whether they're in a romantic relationship, but they have worked professionally before, as they released the track "Rich Baby Daddy" with SZA.
