Is a Spice Girls reunion happening this year for their 30th anniversary? Victoria Beckham says not really.

Mel B., aka Scary Spice, recently hinted at a big announcement involving all five members, and there was talk of the original Spice Girls lineup reuniting for a performance at Glastonbury during the coveted Sunday afternoon "legends" slot.

Despite the high hopes of Glastonbury fans planning to attend the upcoming festival in late June, Beckham, aka Posh Spice, has dampened their spirits by indicating that there will be no grand reunion to celebrate the three-decade milestone of the girl group's formation in 1994.

Beckham, who is a thriving fashion designer with her eponymous brand, expressed hopes for a reunion -- but one that was a low-key gathering with the other Spice Girls members.

An Off-Stage Spice Girls Reunion?

While maintaining close connections with them, Beckham emphasized that the celebration would be an intimate affair rather than a reunion show.

Speaking to Radio France via the Daily Mail, "We do have a group chat. I do speak to all the girls. It would be lovely for us to do something to celebrate [the 30th anniversary] -- a dinner or a lunch -- and reminisce. But yes, it will not be any more than that."

Emphasizing that her focus has shifted from her days in a girl band, she expressed her pride in her accomplishments with the Spice Girls. For her, the current mission is centered on empowering individuals through the realms of fashion and beauty.

"There have been lots of rumors about tours and performances, but that will not happen," said Posh Spice, who also opted out of a 13-date U.K. tour the group did in 2019. "But I'd love to celebrate with the girls in another way, just me and them."

What Mel B. Said About Spice Girls Reunion

Last month on the Today Show's "Hoda & Jenna" hour, Mel B. (real name Melanie Brown) seemed to suggest the Spice Girls were gearing up for a comeback.

The 48-year-old singer hinted at a possible reunion of all five members and teased fans with the promise of something exciting in the works.

When pressed about the speculated reunion, Mel B carefully guarded her words, refusing to disclose any additional information.

"I can't, because I always get told off, because I'm the blabbermouth, but I think I've said this to you before: us five are working on something that is gonna be announced soon."

She added, "Ooohhhhh I'm gonna get in trouble! I'm not saying anything!"

Mel C. Says Spice Girls Reunion Is Something They'd All Love

While it is uncertain whether Posh is being truthful or deliberately misleading fans, back in February, bandmate Mel C. (aka Sporty Spice, real name Melanie Chisholm) also contributed to the buzz surrounding a possible reunion by sharing her perspective with The Sun.

"Mel [B], I adore her and she has this thing, and it can sometimes get us into hot water," Mel C. said. "Of course we're always talking, we'd love to do something else. ... But Melanie likes to manifest things and she thinks if she says it enough, it will happen."
