Robbie Williams has offered his frank assessment of the state of the music industry, stating that he believes there is now only one exception to the "boring" pop realm.

First, he said the industry is now filled with artists too afraid to push boundaries just so they won't be cancelled.

He said he is no exception.

He added that artists can also be cancelled for their past actions and words, which is just alarming.

But he lauded one artist he thinks does not care: Matty Healy.

Robbie Williams Criticizes Music Scene as Boring

"How boring is the music scene right now?" the chart-topping singer opined in a recent Instagram post, insisting he's "not attacking the music itself", but rather "lamenting the death of friction, danger, personality".

He continued: "I'll admit I've vanilled myself into a corner trying to chase what's gone. I get it everyone's scared. No one knows what you'll say that will get you cancelled."

"No one knows what you've already said or written that will end you. So many people to offend."

Matty Healy of 1975 is "Unhinged"

"I really like Matt," the former Take That singer revealed.

"He's unhinged, super smart, super talented and willing to upset. Upsetting for a cause. The cause being a complicated inner life, a rebellious streak and boredom," he explained.

"I've gotta get some of that energy back in my musical life. Like I say, 'so many people to offend', I hope I have time to fit them all in. It's time to take the piss again... and I'm looking forward to it."

One can remember how Robbie was everything from "beige" during the peak of his musical popularity in the 1990s and 2000s, as his numerous scandals, public conflicts, and turbulent personal life dominated the news.

The four-part documentary titled Robbie Williams, which celebrated 25 years of the Brit Award-winner's solo music career, delves deeply into this.

It debuted on Netflix back in 2023.

Taylor Swift and Matty Healy's Whirlwind Romance

Meanwhile, apart from his music career, Matty Healy is known for his whirlwind romance with Taylor Swift.

At one point, in May 2023, Taylor Swift appeared to be giddy with happiness about her relationship with Matty Healy.

Insiders were claiming that the relationship is so real and so true. Swift herself also stated to a crowd on May 20 that "I've just never been this happy in my life, in all aspects of my life, ever before," adding that "it's not just the tour."

There were even reports that the 1975 singer was working with Swift and had even moved to New York to be nearer to her.

A few weeks later, Swift and Healy's romance ended, to the shock of many.

Shortly after the breakup was reported, a source told Entertainment Tonight"They are both extremely busy and realized they're not really compatible with each other."
