In the latest legal proceedings concerning Brian Wilson's dementia, his family disclosed additional information about the Beach Boys singer's ongoing struggle with the condition.

Reports from Radar Online reveal LeeAnn Hard, identified as a potential co-conservator by Wilson's family, made revisions to the most recent court filing.

The documents obtained by the outlet show that Hart asked if she is "permitted to administer medications appropriate for the care and treatment of major neurocognitive disorders (including dementia)."

Hard's statement mentioned that Wilson does not possess the ability to provide informed consent for the administration of the prescribed medications. His family submitted a petition for conservatorship over him back in February.

Brian Wilson's Dementia

The family disclosed that the 81-year-old is grappling with a significant neurocognitive disorder akin to dementia.

Wilson recently endured the loss of his beloved wife, Melinda, earlier this year. Following her passing, his children asserted the necessity for a conservatorship.

Melinda took care of Wilson's daily necessities, noting his inability to adequately attend to his health, sustenance, attire, or accommodation requirements.

In a statement to People magazine, Wilson's family said, "Following the passing of Brian's beloved wife Melinda, after careful consideration and consultation among Brian, his seven children, Gloria Ramos (housekeeper), and Brian's doctors (and consistent with family processes put in place by Brian and Melinda), we are confirming that longtime Wilson family representatives LeeAnn Hard and Jean Sievers will serve as Brian's co-conservators of the person."

"This decision was made to ensure that there will be no extreme changes to the household and Brian and the children living at home will be taken care of and remain in the home where they are cared for by Gloria Ramos and the wonderful team at the house who have been in place for many years helping take care of the family."

Upon the family's recommendation, Hard and Sievers have been proposed to act as co-conservators for their longtime acquaintances Wilson and his wife.

The primary objective outlined by the family is to guarantee that Wilson's daily living requirements are met and that he receives optimal care while residing in his own home. The petition submitted by the singer's family highlighted the singer's inability to participate in court hearings.

According to a doctor's note also highlighted in the petition, "He is easily distracted, often even when aware of surroundings, and its purpose."

"Often makes spontaneous irrelevant or incoherent utterances. Has very short attention span and while unintentionally disruptive, is frequently unable to maintain decorum appropriate to the situation."

An upcoming meeting is scheduled for the end of the month.
