Last night in Portland, fans of the English new wave outfit Tears for Fears were treated to a cover of Radiohead's 1992 breakout hit "Creep."

The band slowed the tempo down a bit, keeping the cover fairly peaceful until the 3:38 mark, when singer Roland Orzabal did his best Thom Yorke during the song's climax, which can be viewed below.

According to Consequence of Sound, Tears has also covered "Ready to Start" by Arcade Fire, "And I Was a Boy from School" by Hot Chip and "My Girls" by Animal Collective. The gig in Portland wrapped a short tour stint that kicked off Sept. 17 in Austin, Texas.

Tears, which also features Curt Smith, is currently prepping for the release of their seventh album — the band's first in 10 years. They began dusting off their instruments last year in anticipation of the album, when they recorded the Hot Chip and Arcade Fire covers.

"The idea was before we actually had any material, before we got together, that we might try and do a couple of cover versions to sort of kick-start the recording process again," Orzabal told Rolling Stone. "I had that bloody melody going round and round and round in my head. It's not like the original."

The band actually began writing the album in 2012, and from what they are saying, it should be a decent listen.

"There's one track that's a combination of Portishead and Queen," the singer added. "It's just crazy."

Last year saw the reissue of the band's debut album The Hurting, which was released in 1983 and elbowed Michael Jackson's Thriller out of the top spot in the United Kingdom's Albums Chart. Tears did not break into the United States until 1985's Songs from the Big Chair, which featured hits "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World."
