With barely a week to the release of her 12th studio album, Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift is under fire from some fans following the release of a string of sexy but glamorous promotional images.

According to The Atlanta Black Star, the five new photos, posted to Swift's social media profiles, garnered over 3.6 million likes in under 24 hours.

Swift models in a rhinestone chain bra, jeweled belt bottoms, skin-toned fishnets, and extravagant feather-rhinestone accessories.

The look is old-school burlesque and Las Vegas showgirl — a marked departure from her past eras.

In the caption, Swift taunted fans, saying: "A showgirl knows to save some of her best tricks for the grand finale..."

However, not everyone is pleased with the change.

In the comments for a Daily Mail article about the pictures, one of the critics posted:
"With everything she has accomplished, I just don't understand why she insists on portraying such a skanky image. Her fans are young girls, not old men. Put some clothes on and promote your MUSIC, not your body."

Another simply said, "Go away, you are overexposed and not a show girl!"

Others questioned the reality of the new image. "She looks uncomfortable in the 'racy' pics," one commented, with another opining, "She's just playing dress up."

Swift's new album era started picking up speed following her Aug. 13 guest appearance on the "New Heights" podcast, which is co-hosted by her fiancé, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce. There, she introduced the Life of a Showgirl cover and teased the album's themes.

"It's about what happens when the lights go down — after the encore, after the tour buses leave," Swift allegedly informed hosts, taking a nod from her record-breaking Eras Tour, which raked in more than $2 billion between 2023 and 2024.

Swift previously spoke about what fans think of her public image.

"That's a way of people saying I'm just not generally a sexy person," she told Access Hollywood in 2015. "It's fine, I've accepted it. I'm a lot of things. Overtly sexy is not one of them."

As Life of a Showgirl nears its October 3 release, Swift's bold image reinvention continues to spark debate — and attention.
