George Clooney and his new bride, Amal Alamuddin, made their wedding weekend in Italy something to remember for everyone in attendance.

The couple and many of their guests began celebrating last Friday, then Saturday shortly after sunset came the main event, when the couple swapped vows in front of about 130 guests.

Clooney and Alamuddin were up bright and early Sunday morning to enjoy a brunch party that united everyone in Cipriani one last time before most guests headed home. On Monday, the couple made things legal by having a civil service at Venice City Hall, and so now you know what comes next right?

Of course — the official photos!

It was rumored over the weekend that Clooney and Alamuddin's first official photos would appear in a Us Magazine, with the profits being donated to charity, and that is the case. The two grace the cover of this week's People magazine, and at first glance they looked like royalty on their special day. The issue is packed with 25 photos from what might be one of Venice's biggest events of the year.

Can you believe Clooney is actually married? Remember how he all but swore that marriage and kids was not for him and all of his relationships seemed to come with an 18-month expiration date? He would stay in just long enough for his current squeeze to start talking about picket fences and babies, and then Clooney would bolt.

So what is it about Alamuddin that changed Clooney's mind? She is different from most of the women he has dated in recent years. Rather that being just arm candy, Alamuddin is rumored to be a tough cookie, and we already know she is smart as a whip. Apparently, she is exactly everything the actor was needing because she did not have to coax him to the alter.

The groom looks just as smitten as his bride is in every photo that has poured out of Italy in the last several days, doesn't he?
