The calendar flips to October Wednesday, which means it is time to begin gearing up for basketball season.
National Basketball Association teams held their respective Media Days this past weekend, and while several crazy moments emerged, no question was as piercing as the one asked to Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
"Iggy Azalea or Swaggy P?" lakers.com asked.
"Swaggy P" is the nickname of Bryant's teammate Nick Young, currently dating pop star Azalea.
Bryant laughed at the question, but then quickly responded.
"Iggy," he said. "She's been more successful in her career so far."
Earlier this summer, Young defended Azalea after rival Nicki Minaj threw some serious shade in her BET Awards speech.
"I had to deal with the aftermath of all that," Swaggy P told the (New York) Daily News. "When she came home and was going through her phones, hearing everybody talking trash about her. I had to be there for her."
He also explained why Azalea was being mistreated:
"Iggy is doing big things and that is what is scaring people. She is going to brush it off. She won't let it get to her. She is No. 1 — what can you do? She's at the top right now, so of course they are going to come at you."
Late summer turned into a big to-do between Minaj and Azalea that eventually led to people picking sides and saying nasty things.
Naturally, Remy Ma was the voice of reason through it all.
"It's a great thing when we're able to come together and do something as a team," she said. "As opposed to at each others' throat and trying to bring each other down."
