You've heard about Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. You heard about the N'Sync reunion performance. But how about a reunion announced on the red carpet that didn't get as much attention: Danity Kane

The girl group, featuring Aubrey O'Day, Aundrea Fimbres, Dawn Richard and Shannon Bex (original member D. Woods will not be involved) made it official that new music is on the way. Of course, the information was available on Saturday via the group's website, but the VMA's are a better place to make a splash. Richard said that the new album, titled "Rage," will be oriented more around live instrumentation.

"[There's] an album's worth of new music," she said. "We're working with the amazing Stereotypes, who, as you know, they've done 'Damaged.' We have a new record called, 'Rage.' it's a better sound for us. It's a live sound. Danity Kane with live guitar, live drums. More of a rock vibe. People will be pleasantly surprised at how we're coming."

The group was mum however on whether rapper/producer Sean "Diddy" Combs would be involved with the new record. The coy answer "who?" hinted that he would.

The group got its start in 2005 as the product of Season 3 of the MTV reality series "Making The Band." Signed by Diddy to his Bad Boy Records, the group put out a self-titled album in 2006 and "Welcome to The Dollhouse" in 2008. A number of theories were thrown around when the group disbanded during 2009, but there seemed to be a general drifting amongst the members. Rumors of a reunion began when the four remaining members were spotted eating lunch together in Los Angeles.
