Charli XCX has officially announced the release date for her upcoming album Music, Fashion, Film, revealing a bold new era for the pop star along with star-studded artwork that has already sparked buzz online.

The British singer confirmed that the album will arrive on July 24 via Atlantic Records. It will include 11 tracks with a total runtime of 30 minutes and 5 seconds, according to details she shared on Instagram. While a full track list has not been released yet, fans already know two songs will appear on the project: "SS26" and "Rock Music."

The announcement also came with striking album artwork shot by frequent collaborator Aidan Zamiri. The black-and-white image features three major figures from the worlds of music, fashion, and film—John Cale of The Velvet Underground, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, and filmmaker Martin Scorsese, Rolling Stone reported.

The trio represents the themes that inspired the album's title, blending creative industries that have shaped Charli's recent work and image.

Charli's connection to the people featured is not just symbolic. She previously worked with John Cale on the track "House" from her Wuthering Heights soundtrack album released earlier this year. She has also appeared in Marc Jacobs campaigns, showing her growing presence in fashion as well as music.

Charli XCX Reveals New Sound Shift on 'Music, Fashion, Film'

The album title itself comes from lyrics in "SS26," where Charli reflects on a chaotic world and the limits of art in saving it.

According to Billboard, in the song, she sings: "We're walkin' on a runway that goes straight to hell / Nothing's gonna save us, not music, fashion or film."

In announcing the project, Charli explained that she is exploring a shift in sound and style, including heavier guitar-driven elements heard in her recent releases. While some fans have questioned the direction, she has embraced the reaction. She previously said she enjoys "flipping the form" and accepting that listeners may be divided by the changes.

Speaking in past interviews, Charli also noted that the album reflects her response to feeling overwhelmed by modern culture and creativity. Her collaborator A.G. Cook described the shift as emotional rather than purely experimental, pointing to how artists today are reacting to an overload of influences.

Music, Fashion, Film follows Charli's 2024 album Brat, which became a major commercial success and pushed her further into mainstream recognition, topping charts in the UK and performing strongly in the US.

Beyond music, Charli has also expanded into acting and film projects this year, making Music, Fashion, Film part of a wider creative period for her.

After the album's release, she is scheduled to headline major festivals including Lollapalooza in Chicago and the Reading & Leeds Festival in the UK.
